Contact
Precautions for infections spread by direct or indirect physical contact.
Contact precautions guard against infections spread by direct touch or by contaminated surfaces and equipment. Wear a gown and gloves on entering the room; common examples include MRSA, C. difficile, and scabies. Dedicate equipment such as the stethoscope and blood pressure cuff to that room and disinfect anything that must leave it.
