Quarantine
Separating people who were exposed but are not yet sick, distinct from isolation, which applies to those already infected.
Quarantine restricts the movement of people who have been exposed to a communicable disease but are not yet showing symptoms, in case they become infectious. The key distinction for the exam: quarantine separates the exposed-but-well, whereas isolation separates those already known to be infected. Quarantine is a public-health tool deployed during outbreaks to limit spread before illness appears.
