Assign Copilot Licenses
Admins assign Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses to users in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Billing > Licenses or through Users > Active users.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is a per-user add-on license that must be explicitly assigned before a user can access Copilot in apps like Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. Admins assign it in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Billing > Licenses or from Users > Active users, toggling the license per account. Assignment does not enable the experience instantly, since propagation can take up to 24 hours. The add-on also requires an eligible base plan, such as Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, or Business Premium; without one, the service will not activate.
