Copilot Control System

The Copilot Control System is the framework of controls for managing Microsoft 365 Copilot and agents across security and governance, management controls, and measurement and reporting.

The Copilot Control System is Microsoft’s framework for administering Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot agents across an organization. It spans three pillars: security and governance (data boundaries, sensitivity labels, conditional access), management controls (licensing, agent lifecycle, customization via Copilot Studio), and measurement and reporting (adoption and usage analytics surfaced in the Microsoft 365 admin center). The exam nuance is that it is not a single product or toggle but a set of controls spread across the Microsoft 365 admin center, Power Platform admin center, and Copilot Studio. Candidates often conflate it with Copilot Studio, which is just one management surface within the broader system.
